About the Ad & Rory's Artwork:
My original canvas vintage artworks are made by paper collage process, photographed and then printed. This artwork is based on a 1962 Westinghouse advertisement promoting their new lightbulb shape and eye-saving features. Women in advertising in the 1960s were striking and 'proper.' I was inspired to juxtapose the benefits of the lightbulb, mono-color background, with the beauty aspirations of the period. Her desire to 'glow up.'
